‘We used the hall this year for the first time, for our Christmas Flower classes. We chose it because it had easy access and parking, for our customers, and was close to our shop in Chew Stoke. When we arrived on site we were so pleased to find it clean and warm – everyone who attended commented on how lovely it was! It had everything we needed, from tables and chairs to a super smart kitchen. We will definitely be back next year!’

We both wanted to say a big thank you to you & Andrew for the hire of your beautiful hall & for all your help.  We had such a fantastic time on Saturday & the weather couldn’t have been better!  There were lots of lovely comments from all our friends about what a great venue it is & I think you might have a few more enquiries from people wanting to hire it for future 50^th dos! 😊 Jo and Steve

This past year has found the hall committee investing in the continuing fabric of the hall which will enable us to better serve our community and surrounding areas for years to come. We’ve invested in new chairs, curtains and most recently a new floor.

We’d like to thank everyone for their support and patronage and look forward to hosting many more events in the years to come!

Thanks to the generosity of our users both regular and occasional, we have decide to replace the floor in the village hall. The current floor has served us well having lasted for close to 100 years. With the age of the floor and various places that have worn thin and are dangerous, the decision has been made to replace it. We have chosen a solid wood floor that we think will last another 100 years. Please bear with us as the hall will be closed for two weeks. Thank you for your patience!

If you’re looking for a venue of any kind, Compton Martin Village Hall offers a wonderful space in a beautiful setting for whatever event you may be staging. The premises is newly refurbished, spacious, well equipped with a stage and bar area, good wheelchair access and toilet and car parking facilities. In addition, we have always found the people who run it to be cheerful and supportive – highly recommended! (Michael Adrian, Grin’n’Tonic Comedy Club)

After much debate and various fabric options disregarded, the Village Hall Committee has chosen new curtains. The new curtains are fire retardant treated and blend nicely with our new chairs. Thank you to the users of the hall whose attendance and support of hall events have made this possible!

We had a successful RNLI event at the hall on Friday evening. Everything at the hall was excellent and we left everything as we found it. We will use the hall again when we have a suitable event as it is a very good hall and is well equipped.

Chew Valley Fundraising Branch RNLI

The Village Hall with a generous donation from the 1982 Committee purchased new chairs for punters to use at our hall. The chairs are much lighter, functional and portable. They replace chairs that had lasted for over 30 years. Thank you to the 1982 Committee and villagers for their support!
